What is a Natal Chart?

The natal chart (or birth chart) is a representation of the sky at the exact moment and location of your birth. It shows where each planet was positioned in relation to the Earth โ€” and, more importantly, in which sign and in which house of the chart.

Contrary to what many people imagine, the sun sign (the one everyone knows from their birthday) is only one of the components. A complete natal chart contains dozens of pieces of information that, together, form a symbolic portrait of a person's psyche and potential.

Astrology is not determinism โ€” it describes patterns and potentials, not fixed destinies. The natal chart is more like a terrain guide than a mandatory script. Knowing it is a tool for self-knowledge, not resignation.

๐ŸŒฟ
Elements and Modalities
The "texture" of the chart. How much Fire, Earth, Air and Water energy is present? Is there more cardinal, fixed or mutable?
โ˜€๏ธ
Planets in Signs
Each planet was in a sign at the moment of birth. That sign colors how the planet's energy expresses itself.
๐Ÿ
Planets in Houses
Houses show in which life area a planet operates. Saturn in the 10th house acts differently from Saturn in the 4th house.
๐Ÿ”—
Aspects between Planets
Angular relationships between planets โ€” conjunctions, trines, squares โ€” reveal how energies interact internally.
โฌ†๏ธ
Ascendant and Midheaven
The Ascendant (sign rising on the eastern horizon) and the MC (highest point of the sky) are the fundamental angles of the chart.

How to use this material

01
Start with the Elements

The 4 elements are the foundation of everything. Before studying planets or houses, understanding Fire, Earth, Air and Water provides a powerful filter for reading any astrological information.

02
Study your Sun, Moon and Ascendant

These three points form the "Holy Trinity" of the chart. Sun = who you are becoming. Moon = who you already are inside. Ascendant = how you present yourself.

03
Explore the planets one by one

Each planet governs a different human need. Learn what each represents before trying to interpret specific positions in your own chart.

04
Understand houses as life areas

The 12 houses show where each energy manifests in practical life. House 1 is identity, House 10 is career, House 4 is family โ€” learn the domain of each one.

05
Integrate โ€” read the chart as a story

A natal chart is not a list of disconnected traits. It is an integrated narrative. Start to see how the elements relate to and amplify one another.
